14 messaging mobile applications that were being used by terrorists in Pakistan as a means of communication to send information to Jammu and Kashmir have been shut by the central government.

According to certain media sources, the government has blacklisted a number of applications, including Crypviser, Enigma, Safeswiss, Wickrme, Mediafire, Briar, BChat, Nandbox, Conion, IMO, Element, Second line, Zangi, and Threema.
According to reports cited by Blogging Freek, it was discovered that terrorists in Kashmir were using these applications to connect with their on-the-ground workers (OGW) and sympathisers.

14 mobile messaging services have been suspended by the central government in New Delhi after it was discovered that terrorist organisations in Jammu and Kashmir were using them. According to reports, terrorists utilised these mobile messaging services to communicate with Pakistan and propagate their message. The action was made after the advice of the armed forces, security, investigative, and intelligence organisations.Numerous agencies discovered that terrorists in Kashmir were using these apps to communicate with their on-the-ground workers (OGW) and supporters. Additionally, there were no representatives for these apps in India. According to Section 69A of the Information Technology Act of 2000, several apps have been disabled.

Most of these apps were designed to provide anonymity to the users, a report said, adding and their features made it tough to resolve entities associated with them. Through different agencies, the ministry of home affairs had found that these mobile apps aided terrorists and their affiliates to engage in terror activities.
