The severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy is expected to increase further over the next 48 hours and proceed almost north-northwestward during the course of the next two days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in New Delhi.
The IMD has urged fishermen not to enter into the adjacent East Central, West Central, and South Arabian Seas until June 12 and into the adjacent North and Central Arabian Sea from June 12 to June 14.
IMD Predicts Heavy Rains In Karnataka, Kerala
IMD has forecast that Kerala, Karnataka, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands may see significant rainfall over the next five days due to ideal circumstances for the Southwest monsoon to move further.
IMD said in its daily meteorological bulletin that "heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar on 9th & 10th; Kerala during 9th-13th; Lakshadweep during 9th-11th; and Coastal & South Interior Karnataka during 10th-13th June."
light to medium throughout the next five days, scattered rainfall is probable throughout North Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh while moderate, fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is highly possible over these three states.
Severe Heatwave To Continue In Bihar
From June 9 to June 13, 2023, hot to severe heatwave conditions are expected to last, according to the IMD's daily meteorological advisory. From June 9 to June 11, isolated areas of Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Gangtic West Bengal are also extremely likely to experience heatwave conditions, as are Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Odisha on June 9 and 10.
Heavy Rains to Lash Manipur, Assam, Meghalaya
The next five days are predicted to bring rain, thunderstorms, and lightning to states in northeast India. On June 8, as well as on June 12 and 13, Assam and Meghalaya are anticipated to see extremely severe rains. From June 9 to June 13, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Manipur are predicted to experience significant rains.
