The Agnipath scheme was approved by the Indian Government in June 2022 to be implemented from September 2022. The scheme is for both male and female aspirants of age group 17.5 to 21 years.

Building on his previous experience as the secretary of the department of defence, the prime minister in his letter has directed all the three services to work in the spirit of “mutual cooperation and coordination” to ensure that the scheme is implemented smoothly.

Calling upon all eligible candidates to immediately apply for this scheme, the Ministry of Defence has issued a Global Noticemail on the same.

Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel who have not yet been recruited can apply for a soldier post only through Agnipath. All individuals will have to undergo a battery of tests, examinations and interviews to be accepted into the scheme.

Agnipath Scheme intends to recruit persons and train them to be commissioned officers in the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.
