The Hindu calendar states that the festival of Dhanteras is observed annually on the Trayodashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Kartik. It is required by law to perform the Lakshmi Puja on Dhanteras during the Trayodashi Tithi of the Pradosh cycle. This year, the Krishn a TrayodashiTithi of the Kartik month will begin on October 22 at 6:02 p.m. and end on October 23 at 6:03 p.m., after which the Chaturdashi Tithi will begin. Any fast or holiday observed by Hindus is based on the Udaya Tithi. The rising date of Trayodashi in this case is on October 23.
Dhanteras's significance
The scriptures claim that on the day of Kartik Krishna Trayodashi, Lord Dhanvantari made his appearance holding an urn of nectar when the ocean was being stirred. Lord Dhanvantari's birthday is therefore annually observed as Dhan Trayodashi before Diwali. On this day, he is specifically worshipped. Lord Kuber and Goddess Lakshmi are honoured on Dhanteras. And in residences, temples, and other buildings, Kuber Yantra, Shree Yantra, and Mahalakshmi Yantra are erected. On the day of Dhanteras, people purchase jewellery made of gold and silver, money, and utensils. Shopping on this day is said to increase spending by 13 times annually. On Dhanteras, they additionally purchase brooms and coriander seeds.

Dhanteras this year, Tripushkar and Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga are being founded.
