Kerala, while 10 others had been rescued and sent to the hospital. The boat, which apparently had over 30 passengers on board, reportedly sank at an estuary close to the
Thoovaltheeram beach in the Tanur region about 7:30 pm on
Sunday, according to district officials. Rescue efforts are still in progress.
Kerala Tourist Boat latest updates on the incident:
1. The Indian Navy's Chetak chopper was summoned to the scene of the incident on Monday morning to help with the search and rescue effort. 22 people have perished, and 10 more have been rescued, according to the authorities. They continued by saying that five persons used swimming to get to the coast.
2. The survivors of the disaster were being treated at Taluk Hospital in the Malappuram district when Kerala's state minister Pinarayi Vijayan arrived. The CM posted on Twitter to express his condolences for the incident's fatalities: "Deeply pained by the unfortunate loss of life in the Tanur boat tragedy in Malappuram. The District administration has been instructed to efficiently coordinate the rescue efforts, which are being managed by Cabinet Ministers. Sincere sympathies to the bereaved families and friends.
3. Following the event, Kerala's health minister Veena George called an urgent meeting of the state health department and gave the staff instructions to guarantee better care for the injured. She also requested that the post-mortem procedure be expedited.
4. The state government announced a judicial investigation into the incident and decided to provide the deceased's relatives a compensation of Rs. 10 lakh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared an ex-gratia of
