In order to ensure the security and orderly operation of the Delhi G20 Summit event, there will be public holidays in New Delhi as the summit draws near.
G20 September 7 and will remain till September 10
Details of the traffic restrictions that will be in effect for the next G20 Summit from September 8 to 10 were announced by the Delhi Police on Friday. The freshly built Bharat Mandapam convention venue in Delhi's Pragati Maidan will host the G20 Summit.
Special CP (Traffic) SS Yadav provided information on the traffic management strategy and stated that the restrictions will start the night of September 7 and last until September 10.
Government has already announced the closure of schools
People from the New Delhi area will be allowed to move about, while visitors from other Delhi districts would need to have confirmed hotel reservations in order to access the area.

Delhi Traffic Police has divided areas
Areas have been separated into controlled and regulated zones by the Delhi Traffic Police. "Controlled Zone-I" will include the whole New Delhi district, and only legitimate inhabitants, authorised cars, and emergency vehicles would be permitted.
Mahatma Gandhi Marg (inside Ring Road)
A restricted zone has been designated for the region surrounding Mahatma Gandhi Marg (within the Ring Road). The Rind Road will be crossed by vehicles that are authorised in the regulated zone and those travelling in the direction of the airport, train stations, and airport.
Detailed advisory heading towards the airport and railway stations
The Delhi Police will also issue a comprehensive advise for cars travelling to the airport and railway terminals. The Delhi Traffic Police will offer real-time reports on traffic flow and will enlist Google Maps' assistance in doing so.
In order to follow VIP movements in real time, the police have also established a virtual assistance centre.
Using the metro to avoid congestion
In order to reduce traffic, the Delhi Traffic Police has also advised utilising the metro and asked people to stay away from regulated and restricted areas. The North-South and East-West Corridors will be open to commuters.
