Union Cabinet approves a 4 per cent increase

Union Minister Anurag Thakur said on Wednesday that the Union Cabinet has approved a 4% rise in dearness relief and dearness allowance for pensioners and central government workers. This 4 per cent rise will raise the DA and DR from 42 to 46 per cent.

Allowance and dearness relief will be applicable from July 1

This increase follows the formula recommended by the 7th Central Pay Commission.


Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat was also increased by ₹150/quintal to ₹2,275/quintal for 2023-24.


Government has already sanctioned Diwali bonuses

The finance ministry has set a maximum of ₹7,000 for central government workers' non-productivity linked incentives, sometimes known as ad hoc bonuses, for the fiscal year 2022–2023.
