6.4-magnitude earthquake jolted Nepal on Friday night
Nepal was rocked by a powerful 6.4-magnitude earthquake on Friday night, according to the National Centre for Seismology. Although local authorities in North India, including Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and Bihar, reported feeling the earthquakes, there were no early reports of casualties or significant property damage.
The quake was in Nepal at a depth of 10 km
According to the NCS, the earthquake's epicentre was 10 km deep in Nepal. Strong earthquakes caused people in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) to flee their houses. The nation's capital's buildings trembled after the earthquake. This is the third time in a month that Nepal has experienced powerful earthquakes.
Users of social media also claimed to have felt the earthquake in Lucknow's northern cities. When a 5.6-magnitude earthquake rocked the Doti area, which is close to Jumla, in November 2022, six people perished.
Nearly 9,000 people died in 2015 when a 7.8-magnitude
In 2015, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake that rocked Nepal destroyed more than half a million houses and claimed around 9,000 lives.
Days after experiencing very powerful shocks on October 3, Delhi and the NCR experienced significant earthquakes on October 15. At 4.08 p.m., an earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 3.1 shook Delhi and its surrounding suburbs. The National Centre for Seismology reports that the earthquake struck 10 km below the surface in Faridabad, Haryana. The epicentre of the earthquake was located 30 kilometres southeast of Delhi and nine kilometres east of Faridabad.

This is a developing story.
