IMD has issued cold wave alerts for numerous cities after a brief break in the severe cold waves that had been affecting Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and other northern areas of India. Over the next 48 hours, Delhi and other parts of western and northern India are set to suffer severely cold waves.
January 15, the temperature -4 degrees Celsius
The temperature is expected to plummet to -4 degrees Celsius starting the following week, on January 15, combined with heavy fog and chilly waves, according to the weather service. Temperatures will probably plunge below zero degrees Celsius in certain parts of Rajasthan, these weather conditions will likely last until January 20.
Gurugram could get a -1 degree Celsius low.
The minimum temperature can hit zero degrees in some Central Delhi neighbourhoods, including Safdarjung, according to meteorologist Navdeep Dahiya. According to Blogging Freek, the minimum temperature in the suburbs of Delhi and Gurugram can drop as low as -1 degrees Celsius simultaneously. Major parts of Delhi can experience temperatures between 0 and 1 degrees Celsius.
Chilly weather conditions in these states
Several states, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim, Assam, West Bengal, Odisha, and Karnataka, are at risk for severe weather, according to the meteorological department. The most severe weather will be experienced in this in portions of western and northern India.
In the meantime, there is a deep blanket of snow covering the mountains. Snow blankets Jammu and Kashmir's, Himachal Pradesh's, and Uttarakhand's higher mountains. In Uttarakhand, a frozen coating of snow has been placed on top of Kedarnath-Badrinath. In Himachal Pradesh, in addition to Manali and Auli, snow also falls in Lahaul, Rohtang, Narkanda, Dharamshala, and Manali. Kyelang was the only location in the state where the temperature fell below minus 7 degrees.
