Congress' Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra updates: Rahul Gandhi to launch yatra shortly

Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, stated that the reason behind the yatra is because India is currently going through a period of extreme injustice.

Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, from violence-hit Manipur's

Congressman Rahul Gandhi launched the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, his second major outreach initiative, on Sunday from the violent Thoubal area near Imphal in Manipur.

Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, and other prominent party figures attended the Thoubal yatra's opening ceremony. The goal of the yatra is to improve the party's chances of winning in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections after a dismal performance in the most recent assembly election cycle.

Manipur holds significance

In light of the continuous ethnic violence in the state that has claimed over 180 lives since May, the Congress yatra's beginning location in Manipur is significant.

The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is being discontinued, according to the Congress, not because it was an electoral initiative but rather because the government denied it an opportunity to bring up public concerns in Parliament. The initiative aims to restore the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity that are intrinsic to the Constitution.

Besides Manipur, the yatra will cover four northeastern states

Before coming to an end in Mumbai on March 20 or 21, the Yatra will pass across 100 Lok Sabha constituencies in 15 states. Four northeastern states will be covered by the yatra in addition to Manipur: Nagaland (257 km in two days), Arunachal Pradesh (55 km in one day), Meghalaya (five km in one day), and Assam (833 km in eight days).

West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra would be the next states visited by the yatra.

Rahul Gandhi on Sunday promised

Speaking to the people of Manipur on Sunday at the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra's inaugural event, Congressman Rahul Gandhi pledged to restore unity and peace to the state plagued by ethnic conflict.

Additionally, he said that "the politics of the BJP-RSS and their hatred" were to blame for the violence in the state.

"We are aware of the suffering endured by the people of Manipur. Gandhi stated, "Manipur has lost what it valued most because of the BJP-RSS politics and the hatred they instill." "We are going to restore the state to its historical reputation of harmony, peace, and affection."
